I need help with tricare question?
I am a retired soldier that is not married yet my fiance is about to give birth i want to know how can i take her to a birthing center as i have done the base delivery before and did not have a pleasant experience what advice can be offered we are gonna be living in Falling waters WV so i would prefer something close but most likely tricare will be the coverage
i don't have a problem with marriage but will be living in falling waters, wv no bases near except VA ewwww
You need to marry her before the birth or tri-care will not cover it. And you don't have to use the base birthing center if you don't live close to it. Tri-care reffers me off base to doc's that accept tricare because i live 30 minutes from base. But i was told by a tri-care rep that if you live on or very near base the on base system is what you'll have to use.Now if you opt to go to an off base doc even though you live near or on the base i beleive you have to pay a co-pay for office visits and stuff but it would probably be a very small amount. And don't let one bad expierence with one bases birth center put you off they aren't all the same. Good Luck!!
EDIT:Then you should be able to go to any hospital or birthing facility that accepts Tri-care, just keep in mind it willprobably not be 100% free. You may be required topay a co-pay or a % of the bill. Thats the pay-off of not haveing to use the VA you ewww...ed earlier, you will have to pay part of the bill. The great thing with Tri-care though is that our co-pays are small. Just make sure whoever you see is in-network for Tri-care. Best of luck!!
