Three Musicians Who Revamped Rock And Roll
The British Invasion of the 60s helped inspire the heavy bass, smooth guitar solos and catchy beats that followed in the 70s and 80s, helping set up classic American Rock and Roll that many loved. From alternative, heavy metal, soft rock and hard rock, all can outline their roots to the music and lyrics that were discovered during the British Invasion of the mid-60s that helped inspire music careers. For most bands, three big music artists stand out as the root of motivation: Elvis Presley, The Beatles and Metallica.
The Beatles
The Beatles, one of the most commercially successful bands of all time, helped launch a phenomenon called Beatle Mania which thrust the Beatles into the hearts of millions of young teenage girls. Despite being the most commercially successful rock and roll band of all time, they managed to influence millions of other musicians and fans with their lyrics urging social change and revolution. The Beatles would also go on to motivate other artists such as Bob Dylan, a backer of peace and change, and the Beach Boys, a high-energy band singing about the sunny beaches and warm weather of California. Radiohead vinyl records may have turned out much differently had The Beatles Never Been created, and without their lyrics, many of the artists of today might not have even formed.
Elvis Presley
He will live on forever as the King of Rock and Roll, and continues as one of the most commercially successful singers of all time, even in death. The owners of Elvis’ estate continue to see large profits, and much of this is attributed to sales of his records and the prosperity of his Graceland mansion, which draws millions of tourists a year. What made The King an inspiration to musicians were the high-energy sounds he inserted into his music, which was jammed with great guitar solos and catchy beats. During his reign, he exemplified cool; his hairstyle, voice and even walk all were imitated by men and adored by millions of women.
Metallica
Rock became changed once again during the 80s and 90s when Metallica moved from the traditional style of music and decided to use more Electric Guitar solos and edgier lyrics. The band may have started 20 years ago, but that hasn’t stopped Metallica from continuing to create hit songs and sell out concerts. Even Metallica vinyl manages to do surprisingly well because of the hits many of their albums had. Metallica managed to define a generation of rock and roll and influenced other musicians to create similar sounds.
